Speculative fiction stories do not just come in books, movies, and TV Shows. There are several other mediums where artists have created stories speculating on the world through different formats. Some of the richest speculative fiction stories have been crafted through music and podcasts. Gaming has been an essential format for speculative stories in the form of board games and card games, as well as tabletop roleplaying games (RPG's), and video games. These are all legitimate formats to reflect our world and imagine other worlds.
When we think of board games what first comes to mind is probably the classics like Monopoly, Risk, Life, or Sorry. Or maybe we think of less board oriented Yahtzee, or Dominoes. We may think of card games such as Poker, Go Fish, Bridge, or War. Board and Card games have transformed themselves over the years. In the last 10-15 years the hobby board and card game industry has exploded. There is a massive variety of board and card games that come out every year with science fiction, fantasy, and horror themes.
