Theme Restaurant & Menu Project: Home

Overview

Part 1: Conduct research on a theme of your choosing (2 sources minimum, cite sources)

Part 2: Develop a concept for a restaurant, based on your chosen theme.

Part 3: Develop a menu of 10 food items with descriptions that reflect your theme

Part 4: Create a print or digital menu for your food item descriptions that reflects your restaurant theme. 

Part 5: Present the restaurant concept and menu as a proposal to potential investors and customers.

 

You must cite ALL sources of information, including recipes!

Menu Criteria and Expectations

A. Find & record two recipes in 5 of these categories:

  • Appetizer
  • Salad
  • Soup
  • Sandwich (hot or cold)
  • Main course /Entrée
  • Vegetable /Side dish
  • Dessert
  • Other (doesn't fit a category, min. 3 ingredients)

B. Complete all sections of the worksheet for each menu item.

C. Create a menu using the names and descriptions you created on the worksheets.
  • Remember, your food item names and descriptions shoudl reflect your theme! 
  • Use Lucid Press or Google Docs. 

 

D. Present your menu and restaurant proposal to a group of potential "investors."

Here are some of the terms for cooking and food preparation you might see in the recipes you find. Be sure to list them in your food item worksheets and try to work them into your menu descriptions!
